Highs: More of the comedy we all know and love

Lows: Low quality animation

Hayashibara Megumi lends her angelic voice once again in portraying the lovably violent Lina Inverse, as well as outdoing herself this time around with the amazing opening song Give a Reason. Introducing a few more characters into Slayers NEXT multiplied the comedy from the first series ten fold. All together, that's more great music, more great voice acting, and more great comedy.

Let's not forget the mounds of filler episodes found in all the Slayers television series. This anime sure keeps that tradition alive. The odd thing is that all the filler is quite good and doesn't seem to detract at all. It's so incredibly hilarious, that you actually begin to look forward it.

On the downside, Slayers NEXT is plagued with the same horrid animation that haunted the original season. You would think that an in-between anime would try to touch up the animation just a bit...

In my opinion, Slayers NEXT is easily the best of the three series. Since its pretty much a continuation of the original, I really recommend this to those who have the necessary background information. Otherwise, go watch Slayers first and then come enjoy this comedic anime!
